There’s something inside you / It’s hard to explain / They’re talking about you boy / But you’re still the same
I finally got around to watching Drive this weekend. Overall a good film I enjoyed the cinematography – what really got me wasn’t the car chases (though those were great) but the movie’s soundtrack.
I feel that sound is the most overlooked aspect of a film in most cases. There’s a handful of directors that take the time to choose the score and soundtrack. If you’ve seen a Wes Anderson film then you know what I am talking about.
If you have seen the film, imagine it without the soundtrack. What if they used some generic top 40 (what’s popular now) shite. It probably wouldn’t have been as good of a film.
I appreciate it when a director takes the time to think about the soundtrack and the feeling…
